The JMGA (Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia) Conference will be in Perth 9-11 April, 2010 with workshops in the three days preceding and the week following. The conference brings together practitioners, educators, collectors, critics and cultural theorists for three days of discussion, debate, interaction and the exchange of ideas.

The Conference Committee is sourcing expressions of interest from contemporary jewellers and educators who are enthusiastic about participating. We are looking for the presentation of papers, workshops and exhibitions that accommodate the theme. Closing date for Expressions of Interest is 31 May, 2009.
Re-source focuses on harnessing and reinterpreting resources – the natural materials and the innovation of makers – to further enhance and encourage a vibrant creative industry in jewellery and object making in Australia and beyond.

The Jewellers & Metalsmiths Group of W.A. (J&MGA. W.A.) hold a themed member’s exhibition every two years. This years theme is the Ring and 42 members have taken up the challenge to design and make up to a maximum of five rings each. This exhibition, The Ring Project will showcase the diversity and talent of Western Australian Metalsmiths & Jewellers.
