JIMENA RIOS (Argentina)
Visable 24 hrs a day in the Pieces of Eight window

For the first time in Australia, and exclusive to Pieces of Eight gallery, is the work of Jimena Rios. Born and currently based in Agentina, she trained at the Massana School in Barcelona, and in 2004 she was selected for inclusion in the prestigious Galerie Marzee Graduate Exhibition. We are showing a striking collection of her neckpieces and earrings in our window.

Pieces of Eight is a gallery and artist workshop created to nurture dedicated artists making contemporary jewellery and objects. Presenting emerging and established makers, the breadth of work showcased ranges from conceptual to wearable, the exquisite to the unexpected.

It was established by jeweller Melanie Katsalidis in 2005, with an emphasis on presenting collections of work unique to the gallery or those made in limited editions. Currently over 30 Australian and international artists are represented. The diverse collection of works displayed are complimented by an exceptional exhibition program of six annual shows.

The onsite workshop is a hive of activity, supporting seven makers. A new residency program adds to the output of fresh ideas and we specialise in taking commissions for our artists, call to make an appointment.

Located on the last block of Brunswick Street, opposite the Edinburgh Gardens in North Fitzroy, Pieces of Eight is a treasure worth seeking out.

Come to the gallery to discover us for yourself, and join the mailing list through our website for regular updates and news of exhibitions.
